We Are Now in a Pandemic of Lawlessness and Rage
By Buck Sexton
Late last week, President Donald Trump called into my radio show.
It was an unscheduled, last-minute conversation. And what he told me is especially compelling right now. Because what most media outlets are trying to get you to believe is a very different story…
The week before, I spent 30 minutes with Trump in a largely off-the-record Oval Office meeting where we discussed everything from national security to life growing up in New York City.
Days after that meeting, a routine arrest in Minneapolis, Minnesota turned into a national tragedy.
George Floyd, under arrest for allegedly trying to use a forged $20 bill, was horrifically suffocated to death by a police officer over the course of nine grueling minutes. Floyd begged the officers for a breath of air. Bystanders pleaded with the cop to remove his knee from Floyd’s neck. But it was to no avail. Floyd died, sparking outrage across the country.
I was able to ask President Trump last Thursday about his thoughts on the George Floyd case, so I asked him the following question:
“I want to get your thoughts, Mr. President, on what’s going on right now in Minneapolis. I saw that there’s at least reporting of additional not just protests, but additional looting and violence on the streets there. And the mayor is calling for calm. The National Guard has been called in. What are your thoughts on that situation? And how does the federal government play a role in calming things down and also achieving justice?”
And here is how the President responded:
“It is very, very sad. And we’ve notified everybody on our side on the federal side, we’re very much engaged and working with local law enforcement. That goes from Bill Barr, the attorney general, to the FBI. And we’re very much involved. We want to get to the bottom [of what] was a terrible, terrible scene. I watched it like everybody else did. That was a horrible thing that I watched. Horrible.”
You would never know that was the president’s position on this crisis from his critics… or from the words of the protestors on the streets in major cities. In the days that followed, more than 100 U.S. cities saw violent and destructive riots, including every major metropolitan area. Businesses were burned to the ground. Innocent bystanders were attacked.
It’s the worst series of riots in a generation – and it’s poised to get even worse.
As I write this to you, I’m getting ready to go into the thick of the protests in Times Square. I would ordinarily have some concerns about the mob recognizing me – especially given that the President Trump retweeted me writing the following on Sunday:
“This isn’t going to stop until the good guys are willing to use overwhelming force against the bad guys.”
At last count, that tweet had almost 20 million impressions, thanks in large part to Trump sharing it with his more than 80 million Twitter followers. A headshot of me is attached to that tweet, and as I’ve already been the target of threats and harassment, it would stand to reason that wading into the protests to cover them might be unwise.
Fortunately, the absurd mask regulations – courtesy of New York’s Governor Cuomo – will actually be useful today. My face will be almost entirely covered, allowing me to get close to the heart of the main protest in NYC’s Times Square… I want to hear what they are saying for myself and take photos and videos of their signs and slogans.
It’s at nighttime that these protests tend to turn into riots. That’s when the Antifa – a quasi-anarchist sect that believes they are “fighting fascism” – comes out in full force… turning the protest gathering into cover for arson, looting, and vandalism. It’s also when those who have nothing but rage and criminal intent are most easily able to hide among the crowd until there are no cops in sight, and their destructive acts are least likely to be punished.
Where are the authorities, you might ask?
So far in city after city, mayors and chiefs of police have been either woefully inept or essentially absent. Law enforcement that does not enforce the law ceases to have a purpose. And today, we are dangerously close to that reality during many of these riots. Just as we saw with the worst of the COVID-19 crisis, the government will often make things worse for you as it pretends to protect you.
It’s time for all Americans to call for a stop to this. Rioters are swinging sledgehammers at the load-bearing walls of American civilization. If nobody is willing to stop them, the very foundations of our society are at risk.
Here’s what former congressman Dr. Ron Paul wrote to introduce my new book, The Socialism Survival Guide…
The good news is that there are a few simple things you can do to protect yourself and your family. That’s why Buck has also included “Survive & Profit” advice at the end of each chapter from America’s preeminent financial publisher, Stansberry Research.
The financial analysts at Stansberry Research have helped hundreds of thousands of investors see the truth about what is happening in America today. And they can help you, too.
The Socialism Survival Guide will help you protect yourself from the coming catastrophe. I urge you to read it closely.
This book tells the story of how we got here… why folks across the nation are losing faith in America… and exactly how to prepare for the dangerous times ahead.
I hope you take this message seriously.
Now here are some of the stories we’re reading…
‘They’re terrified.’ Mom of woman attacked in viral video during Rochester unrest speaks out
“Go away” she can be heard saying to the men, “People live here!” In response, one of the looters begins swinging the length of 2×4, striking both residents. Others in the group join in the attack, throwing objects at the couple. Another punches the woman repeatedly in the head and holds her while others rain blows across her head and back.
Only an intellectual could ‘justify’ these riots
The glorification of mob violence and petty criminality that was one of the disgraceful hallmarks of bien-pensant thinking throughout the 20th century resonates through every tweet, every deep TV observation and every piece of writing that casts the coast-to-coast destruction and anarchy in a positive light.
Joe Biden, the Moderate, Plans the Most Radical Economic Overhaul Since FDR
The new economic agenda represents a swift, sharp turn for the typically moderate Biden, who during the primary debates scoffed at the impracticality of many of the policy positions he’s now adopting. But a pandemic that has sickened or killed hundreds of thousands of Americans and put 40 million out of work has a way of changing one’s views. So does the need to win over Sanders’ supporters.
With successful SpaceX launch, America roars back into the space race
For the first time in a long time, the U.S. is back in the business of crewed spaceflight, with realistic hope of a new space age on the horizon.
