Just how divided is America? We’re so divided, we can’t agree on anything. Political debate is dominated by left-wing kooks, right-wing nuts, and random fruitcakes. Show them the words of wisdom from America’s founding fathers in the Declaration of Independence and the Preamble to the Constitution, and they’ll start screaming at each other.
Below: left-wing kook ravings are shown in pink, right-wing nut rants in blue, and random fruitcake blather in green.
Now here are some of the stories we’re reading…
It is said that some peoples’ ideologies are derived from facts, and that some peoples’ “facts” are derived from their ideologies.
Progressive candidates like Sanders and Warren are surging in fundraising and drawing support from a wide swath of voters, according to polls, but face opposition from moderates who question whether now is the time to start the kind of sweeping – and divisive – economic and societal reforms they are pushing.
The president’s latest rallies show a bare-knuckled approach the likes of which voters have never seen before.
Soon enough, large swaths of the country will be engulfed in the brilliant yellows, oranges and reds that herald an approaching winter. “Leaf peepers” and “color spotters” will swarm, cameras in hand, in search of peak fall glory.
